We visit our first orphanage

We were blessed today by an unscheduled stop at Kingdom Vision Int'l orphanage. This facility has about 50 kids and babies, and they were a lot of fun to interact with. They're so friendly and eager to hug you, peck you on the cheek, and play. They also love to see their picture on the camera display, so I took a lot of pictures of boys striking various "check-me-out" poses.
KVI is one of three orphanages our adoption agency draws their kids from. According to our agency rep, this is one of the nicer orphanages in Addis Ababa. It's also where Naomi and Samuel were before they went into the transition home. So it was neat to do a "pilgrimage" to the place they called home for a month.
We have the opportunity to visit the other two orphanages after we get our kids, but are unsure whether that would be a good idea. The girls will understand it's only a visit, but Samuel may come unhinged. So the jury's still out on that one!
Tomorrow will be a fun and emotional day, as we actually get to meet our kids and spend a few hours with them. We'll take pictures of other families first meeting their children, and they'll do the same for us. We're expecting lots of tears from parents, and plenty of confused kids wondering what all the blubbering is about.
