When Olivia's birthmother died in April, her brother Mikias was left without a family.

When we were in Ethiopia in December, we had the opportunity to meet Olivia's birthmom (Sintayehu) and her 10-year-old brother (Mikias). Sintayehu had asked at one point if we could take Mikias as well as Olivia, but that was not possible for us. At the time these pictures were taken, it was Sintayehu's plan to relinquish Mikias as well. Did she know then she was sick? We don't know.
Fast-forward to April, when we received the phone call that Sintayehu had died. On top of another layer of grief for Olivia, our thoughts and prayers immediately went out to Mikias. He had not yet been relinquished when their birthmother died, so he was left without a family or a home. America World is working hard to get Mikias into an orphanage and then on to the transition home. At this point, we only know that this boy needs a forever family.
Would you consider adopting Mikias? Please keep him in your prayers and share his story with anyone who may be considering adopting an older boy from Ethiopia.
Ironically, we're posting this on the FOUR MONTH anniversary of our return to the US with three beautiful children from Ethiopia. It's been an amazing four months!
