(click any image to enlarge) Signing the Acceptance Form Like Loren's shirt? Too bad Kristen didn't have a "Mother" shirt to match. The Referral Acceptance Envelope Our referral acceptance forms are in that envelope. Wow! If ever a blog title deserved caps and an exclamation point, this one is it! While exploring the Trees of Mystery near Klamath, CA, Kristen received a call on her cell phone. It was our family coordinator with a "possible referral" for us. She knew this particular combination of children would stretch us, but was something we were open to considering. God has been working in our hearts toward this end, so we're sure glad she called. The referral was for THREE children, including a 4.5-year-old girl and her 20-month-old brother. The third child, a 6-year-old girl, is not related. The older girl is one Kristen has been looking at--and praying for--on the waiting child list for a month. She even said in recent weeks, "If we get a referral for two young siblings, I'm going to ask to review her file as well.". Now we'll wait for a court date. Courts will close this year, but for a much shorter time than usual. So we'll likely get a court date in October, and hope to travel in time to have the kids home for Christmas. Please pray that we get a court date quickly, and pass that hurdle without any snags. Please also pray that God provides the funds we need, as adding a third child increases the expense by several thousand dollars. We're not allowed to post any details regarding the children until we pass our court date. So keep checking back, and we'll post pictures of their adorable little faces just as soon as we can.
