Day Two in Addis

Things are a little different here in Ethiopia

We’re Here!

The flights were uneventful, but the technology has been in revolt.

We’re Off!

We're heading to the airport in the morning and praying for miracles.

Dresses from the Heart

A fun project to bless others.

Ethiopia Bound

We are leaving soon!

It’s Official!

After two failed attempts, we passed court today for Olivia Yodit.

Cuddle Quilts

Quilts for the newest members of our family.

Roller Coaster

It's a thrilling, frightening, whip-lash-inducing ride. It's international adoption!

Disappointment and Hope

This is a difficult day for us. We did not pass court as we had hoped.

They Are Ours!

God gave us a miraculous gift last night while we were sleeping.

We Did Not Pass Court

We are disappointed to report that neither one of our cases passed court today. We were told by our agency that the first-time pass rate is about 50%, so we are not surprised by these results.

We Have a Date!

We received word today that a judge will hear our case on Monday, October 19th.

Court Date, Where are You?

This is where we are in our adoption process, in case you're wondering.

When Big Changes Start to Hit Home

Up to this point, it's all been forms, paperwork and intangibles. We now have our first (very large) tangible, which is not nearly as cute as our new kids.

Simple Amharic?

We're having a lot of laughs trying to learn with our "Simple Amharic for Adoptive Families" CD.

REFERRAL ACCEPTED!

Just like that, we have three more children.

The girls learn the real meaning of sacrifice--getting shots!

Craft Fair Bust!

OK, so the craft fair was a bust. We covered the cost of the booth and a few lunches, but not much else.

It Begins…

Discussion, prayer, application, approval, expense, adoption!
